RRS 19" Wheels on a Disco 3

Was it established that whilst Disco 3 wheels could go on an RRS, the same doesn't apply the other way round. I seem to recall that it was something to do with the weight rating of the RRS Wheels not being high enough to sit under the Disco 3

Anyone care to confirm or reject this?

I've got 19" RRS alloys on my D3 (see gallery). One issue you may be recalling is tyre weight capabilty. The 50 series tyres fitted to 19" RRS alloys are weight rated at 107, whilst D3 use 111, so I removed the 255/50x19's that came on my alloys, and replaced with 255/55x19's as used on the D3 HSE with the correct 111 weight rating.

Thanks, but I think that would defeat the object of the exercise, which was to obtain new Pirelli Tyres for my Disco 3... Believe me I don't need the bling-bling effect of these whees.

Ah, I see, you were thinking you would pick up a set of RRS 19's (still fairly cheap on fleebay), complete with tyres and use those. You could, if you didnt mind the slightly reduced load rating, and the smaller diameter as they are 50 series.

I bought a set of 18" RRS wheels to my D3, they are rated for 940 kg as the original D3 6 spoke 19" rims. Very Happy
