RRS to Disco 4 - tomorrow! |
|
Hi all,
Tomorrow I am chopping in my 2011 Range Rover Sport for a 2012 Disco 4. I'm not sure it will feel quite as 'special' as the RRS, maybe that is a brand thing, but I am looking forward to the extra space. I wonder what happened to all the space in a RRS, it is a bit like a tardis in reverse!
Disco spec is:
Disco 4 HSE 3.0 SDV6
Santorini black
Ebony leather
Privacy
20" 5 spoke alloys
Removable tow bar
Am I doing the right thing? Only time will tell, but I'm excited all the same.
Andy Disco 4 2012 HSE 3.0 SDV6, Santorini black, Ebony leather, privacy, 20" 5 spoke alloys, tow bar
----------------------------
Gone:
RRS 2011 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Stornoway Grey and Ebony, Privacy, Grand black lacquer, iPod
----------------------------
2000 Lotus Elise S1 (still clinging on to it)

You will certainly love the extra space, practical touches of the Disco and the 7 seats come in handy from time to time.
Build quality is identical but the car does not feel quite so special for some reason, I suspect that in my case it's because I went from a TDV8 HST sport to the 2.7 HSE.
Saying that I have just come back from the DIY store complete with wood sheets, plaster board and lengths of wood, I would never have got it all in the Sport.
Horses for courses I guess
Daz 17 4.4 Autobiography FFRR
57 VW Transporter - now gone!
09 D3 HSE in Black - long gone!
08 RRS TDV8 HST - long long gone!

You won't look back. I have been using our 2011 sport hse and it's very nice but fels a bit cramped compared to my D4, good move, enjoy! Worse mpg in our d4, bigger heavier less aerodynamic?

About to do the same thing. RRSport TDV8HSE going tomorrow and new D4 HSE arriving. Previously had a D3 2.7 TDV6 base and thought it brilliant. Looking forward to the space and a little more MPG than the 22 in the Rangey! Need the space for band eqipment now the ageing rockstar is back on the road. D4 is defintiely the upmarket alternative to the 70's white "tranny van"
