I've just been and bought one of them i Pod things and I want to connect it to the car stereo. I have the base line stereo but dispite looking around the forum I cant find a deffinate way of connecting the i pod to the stereo. Some of you say the back of the upper glove box others say the back of the centre console/ cubby box. I had a look in the glove box earlier and there doesnt appear to be anything there. Theres nothing at the back of the cubby box either. Any ideas? Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help, i have a GVIF interface unit that i'm selling as never fitted, but i don't know if it actually works and could do with testing it before hand.

Does anyone in the warwickshire area or nearby have one installed that could just swap the unit over to test it for me, and then i can confirm that it is all working etc
Hi Folks,

Recently fitted a Codan 9323 to the D3.

Unfortunately it seems that the vehicle is producing some birdies, but only when the the engine is actually running which to me points to an ECU.

Just wondering if others have experienced this and have found a solution.

One strong one is @ 21.185Mhz which of course is bang on one of my travellers nets..

This is puzzling me, I passed on my recent SatNav Disc, worked perfectly for me but the new owner seems to be having issues with it.

I have been told its downloaded which is good, but wont allow him to enter FULL postcodes, are we overlooking the obvious?

I did'nt have this problem myself, as I said it worked fine for me and was purchased from Wiggs.

view forum post
_________________
Club Traxide and Yellow Optima Auxillary Split Charge System

This has annoyed me a couple of times now : Phone is connected to BT module in car. I leave the car and lock it. Pick up phone outside car to make a call, no audio. Try again, then realising that the audio is still routed through D3 BT module. Is there a way to program the module to shut down when locking the car with keyfob ? Searched and found lots of threads on connection setup issues, none on releasing....The D3 is a MY2008 SE with factory fitted BT.

I put the key back in, turned it through the accessory position into the normal running position, turned off slowing and it turned off as normal. working ok now, but who knows with these things, anyone else had similar?

view forum post
_________________
Formerly shiny moose

Quite fancy the new memory in car screen (7") and sat nav combo.
I already use the memory map a lot on a notebook computer in the car and need to change an ageing Garmin sat nav.

I would like the reversing camera to be powered either by reverse gear being selected (current setup) or by a switch independently. Am I right in thinking a switching relay is all that is required as below to choose between power sources and not fry the camera? (the switch will be between contact 87a and the camera)

The unit plugs into the ECU connector and then connects via Bluetooth to a Garmin gps. Cost less than $180 AUD, has a graphical readout of various engine functions and also the ability to read and reset fault codes.
I have seen a youtube video of the system and the fault codes where converted into a useable text form. As the test car was a Ford, I am wondering if it would work on a D3.
Hi guys,

I am installing the NAV-TV OPV-2LR and TV in montion stuff myself. I have 3 questions regarding power source (I know nothing in vehicle electrical power system)

1. Where is the +12v perm
2. I assume -12v ground is anywhere to the chassis
3. Third one, the instruction says I need to connect the blue wire to the +12 switch between the Tv and the new source. I do not really understand this...

Hi All,

Can anybody throw some light on what happens once you've tuned the TMC channel on the navigation screen (Classic FM) what I mean to say is should it stay on the channel for ever more or does it drop the channel if it losses reception or something? I've tuned it a few times and everything seems ok but then perhaps the next day or later that day when I use the car next I notice that there is a red line through the TMC icon, when I go back into the TMC setup screen the...

view forum post
_________________
Do It Today, because Tomorrow, Today will be Yesterday!
Hello all - recently joined the site after purchasing my D3 last week. Bit cheeky looking for free advice first up I realise.

Whilst not new to Landies (two freelanders and one Disco2 previously) this is my first car with voice activation so, with big apologies if this ramble seems a bit daft to you experts but...........................the voice activation does not respond to any of the commands detailed in the handbook for radio/sat nav/cd. In fact, when enabled, all it...

view forum post
I have a disco 3 05 model se with a 2009/2010 sat nav disc installed.
Spoke to local dealer about enabling sat nav on the move which they said they can do for £60.
I Asked if they could unlock/enable the 4x4 info/ off road screen and they said it can't be done!?
Does anyone know how to do it? and how much?
Thanks

One of the things I’ve not been that happy about with my Parrot 9200 installation is the non-std look of the little screen.
I’m going to source another ‘H’ Trim and modify it to accept the screen before re-spraying it, but in the mean time I’ve made it look a bit more ‘factory fit’ by using the attached image as the wallpaper for the screen.
Hopefully it will be useful for somebody else.

Anybody had this one? When I select reverse in my D3 HSE the mirrors now raise and point skywards instead of dipping and pointing earthwards. I've tried disabling and re-enabling them but they still do the same. They only started doing this earlier today so they will probably sort themselves out later. It was raining heavily today so I'm blaming that.

view forum post
_________________
2007 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey

Like many on here I bought a Dell Mini 9 from the dell outlet store last summer. It's a lovely piece of kit and now has a 32GB SSD and 2GB of RAM. It came with the Vodafone software and the Dell 5530 WWAN card worked (buggily) with a Vodafone data SIM. Went to use the SIM after a 6 month gap and it was disconnected. No big deal, contacted Vodafone to get reconnected and they were adamant they wanted £40 for a new dongle. Moved to orange data at £5 per month but I cannot get the dongle or...

view forum post
_________________
Club D2

	Subject: Amplifier Removal
Posted: Mon Aug 23 2010 1:51pm (GMT 1)

I am having trouble with my HK amp and have bought a replacement. I can see that the amp is held on by 4 bolts that unscrew, which I have done. The amp then has 5 banks of wires connected to it, 2 of which come out very easily (grey and black blocks), but the other 3 will not budge. How do you remove these other sockets without breaking the things?

Also, do I need to take the seat out to remove the amp, or does it slide out from under the front of the seat?

view forum post
_________________
TDV6 S Auto, Cairns Blue

I traded in my D2 for a 2007 D3 a couple of months ago but the dealer mistakenly told me that the D3 had Bluetooth but it hasn't.

They have now offered to fit an aftermarket kit that 'should give complete integration with the current vehicle systems with steering wheel button activation once fitted'.

Apparently mObridge auto audio have said that the retro Bluetooth installation kit can indeed be hard wired to my vehicle in line with the telephone button...

view forum post
Hi
Just had a reverse camera and satnav/DVD system installed and when i use the reverse camera the objects seem further away than they actually are. Now i now its just to see what is behind rather than a parking aid - but is there anyway to zoom in? the guys that installed it said they could adjust it next time i am in the area, but wondered if there was any way i could do it myself?

view forum post
