A very sad Bank holiday, D3 gone today
Well I’ve just waved goodbye to my second D3 after 3 and a bit years of ownership, , it has been by far the best car in all ways I’ve owned , it’s had it’s issues but nothing comes close in many ways and as stated in my for sale ad have had to get something more practical for swmbo to drive around in as she will be doing all the driving for a few months as i have the good fortune of a up coming operation on my right foot soon, , I’ve not posted much in the last year since I had a bad fall from a ladder from about 12 foot and smashed my right heel up !, Not been in a good place mentally as I haven’t walked properly for over a year now , Any one knows this injury (Calcaneus Fracture )will know where I’m coming from, google it !! it’s a of an injury that takes a good couple of years or more to get over , Anyway Trying to get on with life and must say always enjoyed this site ,the help , the banter, the jokes and everything else on here , Will keep a look in as usual and continue following as I know I will be back in the fold sometime as the Discovery and the green oval itself certainly gets under your skin : For now thanks to the site and everyone involved it’s a great place to spend a while if you have issues or not, For now I have to resort to this below
Good luck to all Enjoy your Discos lol:

A friend did both of his heels a few years ago following jumping off the top of an ISO container as he couldnt wait a while for a set of keys to a gate.
He had several operations to re -build fix the bones in his heele but thas gone on to make a full recovery to the point he can walk now without issue and has aas a result managed to secure his dream job.

Thanks Russell for those kind words ,glad to hear your friend is doing ok ,it’s good to hear positive outcomes to this injury as it can also go the other way as I’ve heard some right horror stories related to it

Best wishes Darryl hope it works well. I should have had my left ankle replaced 18 months ago, then both knees sorted! My consultant said six weeks lying on my back didn't fancy the thought of my leg being sawn off at the bottom. He said the worst that could happen could be the loss of my foot, not had it done.(yet) My SWMBO loves driving our 13year old Disco, how much easier is the Honda for you to drive.?Mantec sump guard.

Ouch Darryl!! Good luck with the op. and the recovery.
My late, first wife had a similar fracture, pitched off her horse and landed in a standing position. One ankle, wasn’t too bad a fracture, still took a good few months but eventually she made a full recovery. She was more concerned about getting back in the saddle than walking, that’s horse women for you
I remember the consultant saying that years back they were referred to as ‘chimney sweep fractures’, apparently chimney sweeps would sometimes slip, drop vertically down the chimney, and land hard on their heels/feet....
Anyway, hope all goes well
