Do you think the silvery part is removable or is it glued together? Asking as the first picture shows some kind of clips below and perhaps bolts on top?

Strangely it is in the house at the moment and I will be offering other bits soon I am told I have too many!
I have never looked in detail at the grille but hopefully the close up will show it all appears to be “glued” I reckon the bolts that you mention are just mouldings from grille component. In my view the unit is glued, with no mechanical fixings, clever idea.
Now you made me look, I now notice the bottom section has flexed as the glued part has sprung on two central spars, again hopefully as photo. for some reason these photos are better than first lot from iPad. Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to post more pictures, I appreciate it.
Reason I asked was that I wondered on the amount of effort to paint the green stuff to blue stuff. 8) since the silvery parts cannot be removed easily I think I might have to let this idea go for now.
