Thanks Nigel
The car appears to have been purchased by a breakers, which isn't a surprise.
I'll be listing a few spares later or tomorrow, including my Nanocom and a 19in HSE wheel with very good Wrangler.
Sitting under the back of the car is a 19in HSE wheel with a Wrangler on it that is a few years old but has only done a few hundred miles.
If anyone wants to come and swap their similar wheel with a more worn tyre I'm sure we can come to an arrangement, but you'll need to be quick.

Sounds good.
I had put the details into Shiply to get an idea of costs involved, not one below £500

Thing is though, they have to account for a trip up loaded and home empty
I have a few contacts who are up and down the country frequently, who could tie it in with another job back down the road, saving both parties some cash My D3 Build Thread

The car is being collected tomorrow late afternoon, Sunday, if anyone does want to 'Part-X' their spare wheel with a worn tyre you'll need to be in Clanfield by just after lunch.

.....it sold on EBAY for the £1500
Bit of an 'eye opener' ..... a new 2005 HSE would've been around the £45k mark - ?
But 14 years and many miles later, just £1.5k.
Not saying it's good, not saying it's bad ..... just looking at the numbers. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

And assuming someone bothers to fix the suspension and maintain it well the vehicle would be ok for a long period, still?

Well it's gone.
The recovery company that was to collect it at 4pm today arrived at 7am!
5 minutes later and I'd have left to take the dog down the beach, but that would have been their problem.
I'm trying to look at this positively, in that I've got far more for it than dealers have offered me for it in part X against a D4.
The money is in my account, I'll be listing a few bits and pieces on here later to add to the pot available for me to buy a cheap runaround for a couple of months until my money arrives to buy my D4.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Couple of things you need to do right away now its left your site
1. Cancel the insurance ASAP - (if you haven't already) people in the past have been held liable for others mistakes when they have sold on vehicles that haven't then been insured by the new owner.
2. Inform DVLA

Don't worry, called my insurance company as soon as they were open at 10.am.
Have suspended my policy rather than cancelled it.
Managed to do it whilst eating breakfast at the beach cafe!
I obviously have the Log book to send to the DVLA, it will be in the post tomorrow.

For what it's worth, I think you've done the right thing.
You could have waited, and waited, and waited, for a buyer here to eventually come along and ended up accepting less anyway just to see it gone.
Yeah, so the breakers will make money on it, so what? You probably don't have the time, the garage space nor the inclination to strip and sell the items individually.
