Australia 2005 Discovery 3 4.4 V8 HSE Auto Bonatti GreyDiscovery 3

Marty, i think i saw your add, the one that says "Minor scratch & dent" (sorry the only way i can distinguish the different adds) - surely the damage couldnt be too bad, i suppose you might have to make allowances in the sell price for the repair but at the end of the day panel work is superficial and can be fixed, the main thing i was concerned about when shopping for a Disco-3 was service history, as a mechanic, the repairs might cost me a little less but for the average punter these things are not particularly cheap to repair so my main concern (especially after reading opinions on the site) was to find a car that had been properly maintained pretty much to the letter, on time - every time, to be honest if the car did not meet that criteria i was suspect on the car and the care level the owner had for the vehicle.
I picked up (or rather, had delivered) an mint '05 HSE V8 with 78,000 km's, this car had every service performed before time, added to that, the owner got the ($1000) 80k service done for me a few days before it was trucked over from WA to Melbourne and then provided me with a brand new air pump ($1100) after LR reported on the service that it sounded a little noisey on occasion!! So i paid 40K for a super clean '05 HSE and got $2100 worth of 'extra's' thrown in with both reciepts provided. I will evidently sell the car in a couple of years and i think that a up to date service history is paramount for good resale value. The only down side is that i was looking for a 7 seater but they were all out of my price range (45K-MAX), the $7,000 odd cheaper ticket price of the 5 seat car when brand new obviously jacks the 2nd hand price up of the 7 seater however i will endevour to see if i can retro fit some 3rd row seats if its possible. I would hate to think what dealers would be offering for a car like mine wholesale (mid to high 30k??)

hi Matt,

i believe 3rd row is possible $2050 fixed - this is the info i got from a dealer abt a yr ago.

the services history of mine is right on the dot till the latest (i've done abt 20k since Aug 09 which is last service). and since it was still under warranty i had to (thx to the greedy LR policy) service with dealers. and two wks back i had the car tested with one of the independent specialists for RWC and it's faultless.

only coz i m moving overseas and they drive on the wrong side of the road Laughing i am trying to sell this beloved car. otherwise i wont.

by the way, thx for the notes.
 G'day
