[For Sale] D3 HSE - Reluctant Sale - Price Revised
Order number 210408-246
Hi All,
Reluctantly for sale is my beloved D3 HSE, Adriatic Blue.
I’ve had it for the last 5 years or so and in that time have easily spent a good 5k fixing it back to almost factory condition from a mechanical perspective eg. New air struts, valve blocks, replaced tow bar etc etc.
To give an example of how it’s been looked after, when I had a fault with the rear PDC I replaced all sensors, looms and control module as a preventative measure rather than just replacing the affected sensor.
As well as throwing most of the accessory and mods brochure at it. It’s been a labour of love which has extended to replacing individual trim clips with the genuine model number version just so I know they are right! Any parts replaced have been done with genuine parts.
Mileage is sitting around 206,000 and will go up a bit as I’m still using it on and off. In the recent months it’s had all belts changed and a new Bosch S5 battery fir the main battery and S4 for the aux battery.
The photos uploaded here don’t really do it justice as it’s well over due a wash and as I went out to take the photos I saw a bird had kindly left its mark!!
Extras/mods:
Traxide Twin battery system
Genuine LR driving lamps
Genuine RAI
Side running boards
General Grabber AT3’s with approx 6mm all round
Factory sat nav replaced with iPad mini mod
Bluetooth module
Rear aux replaced with Bluetooth module for streaming (works fantastic) https://britishamericanconcepts.com/
Armrest fridge
Mantec loadlugga
Genuine sliding rear floor
Sump/steering guard
ECU remap by Twisted Landrover when they still did the Discovery
Terrafirma 30mm spacers
From what I’ve seen on here and elsewhere on pricing, and taking into consideration the extras some of which I’ve seen are quite sought after I’d like to ask £4,500. I also have a GAP IID BT available as part of the deal.
The car is still in use and also listed elsewhere too.
I think I’ve now complied with the sale regs but if not please shout.
I’ve reduced the price this weekend and am only selling to fund a wedding which was postponed from last year.
Thanks

Could you revise your post or, if you prefer, I can take it off line until you are ready to commit.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Hi,
Yes I have but we all know they under value by about half unfortunately! I have cross checked it elsewhere.
I based my value on sale price elsewhere/compared to others on here plus the resale cost of extras fitted such as RAI etc.
Happy to be corrected if someone wants to suggest what they feel is realistic.

Just asking as they reckon my 06 with 143k on the clock is worth 4k, and to be fair that may be under valued but Imho not by much.
I reckon mine is worth 5 maybe 5.5k tops and thats on a good day to someone who is after that particular spec model and wants it now.

Sorry, but I think that’s steep. It’s nearly 17 years old. Whilst you may feel the add ons and extras are worth a lot, the reality is they aren’t on a car of that age.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

All items listed as being "For Sale" must be freely available - a FS listing is not to be used to test the water for interest
Maybe it the 'Reluctant' bit which is in question, not the actual sale....?
I reckon I might get flamed for that comment on here...

I have been looking too for another disco and i think it is a little steep for the miles you may want to perhaps sell the extra's in a separate sale to recoup money but that is my opinion onlyDiscovery 3 se gone

It appears I may have fallen into the trap of marking the sale price based on what the car means to me rather than what the car with/without accessories is worth on the open market.
Looks like I need to take some more valuation advice and revise sale price accordingly!

I suppose it depends on how much you want to sell it really i had spent a lot on mine with hidden winches etc but decided to take the bits off and sell them separately and made most of the money back and sold the disco on its own which put me in a better place moneywiseDiscovery 3 se gone

I have always said, anything will sell if the price is right, when all the EE boys start ringing you then you know you are right price wise.
