The original Range Rover body has been replaced with a Series 3/90 one, but with the benefit of keeping the independent coil suspension, power steering and disc brakes all round.
The V8 is a 3.5 twin Stromberg setup, that the previous owner had ported, re-bored and polished for fitting into a GT40 Kit Car, but stuck it in this instead! I've no idea of the final power output, but is it FAST!
Chassis is absolutely solid, as are all Range Rover components under the body.
Photo of engine bay was taken before I re-sprayed it!
Since owning it I've down a number of things to the vehicle:
- 95% complete new paint job in Battleship Grey (remaining spray paint cans to finish the job will be included in the sale if required)
- Rear tub + foot wells painted with UPOL Raptor paint for a hard wearing finish
- New Defender Style wing mirrors
- Full set of lights all around (not connected to loom yet)
- New Silver Top Facet Fuel Pump
- New fuel pipes all around
- New custom, rear mounted fuel tank
- New Distributor cap + leads
- New Filterking Fuel pressure regulator + filter
- Rebuilt both left and right hand side carburetors with a gasket refurbish kit
- Measured out panels to cover the gearbox if required
- Rear tailgate + windows are included, but hadn't got around to cleaning/painting them
- Hard Top + Hood sticks also included in sale
The vehicle is officially registered as a historic vehicle on the V5.
The Land Rover is TAX exempt and an MOT isn't required, however it still passed its MOT last year.
She comes with original Series sliding windows that are removable and front windscreen folds down (Perfect for summer trips to the pub) A hard top and a set of hood sticks are also included in the sale.
With the V8 and shorter body the Land Rover is very fast and quicker then most modern Defenders - Fun at the traffic lights!!
Bought it a few months ago to restore, which I have done (new paint job and a bit of tidying up etc), but am finding that I simply don't have the time for it.
Could do with a service and tune up for tip top running but runs drives and stops.
Could be used for green-laning or competitions or maybe kit car rebuild.
Sold as seen.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I am open to SENSIBLE offers but no time wasters please.
