[For Sale] LR 101 Forward Control LHD Ambulance
I’ve spent 18 months and over £3,500 restoring this and was planning to convert to a camper.
I’ve just had a realisation that it’s not going to be big enough for what we want to do. Consequently, I’ve just purchased a Unimog and need the space for it, so the 101 is now going up for sale.....
The good bits:
Interior of ambulance body stripped out
Ambulance body separated from chassis & cab
Chassis cleaned up & painted
Interior of chassis sprayed with waxoyl
All brake cylinders, brake lines & fluid reservoirs replaced with new
Brake apportioning valve,shuttle valve & master cylinder serviced
New brake servo fitted (110 replacement)
Large bore stainless steel exhaust fitted
Fuel tank removed & repainted
All coolant & heater pipes replaced
New front bumper, halogen headlights & LED fog lights
New clutch slave cylinder & clutch pipes all replaced
New distributor fitted with electronic ignition
New HT leads
New shock absorbers fitted front & rear
Rubber bushes replaced with poly bushes.
Rear lights replaced with LED
Front & rear propshafts serviced with new universal joints.
New steering damper fitted
Anti-roll bar serviced & bushes replaced with poly bushes
Ball joints all serviced
Swivel seals & swivel housing grease replaced
Gearbox oil & filter renewed.
Front & rear axle oil renewed
Comes with much needed 2 new door bottoms, hinges & rubber seals.
The bad bits:
Door tops & mirrors are completely rotten.
Brakes are still spongy- think they need another shot at being bled.
Tyres need replacing as they’re the original bar grips.
Mileage is a genuine 11,600 km / 7,200 miles.
Engine runs very very smoothly as you would expect and sounds superb with the 2 inch stainless steel exhaust.

The registration has changed due to being registered at 1977 build, making it Tax & MOT exempt.
