[For Sale] Superwinch Talon
Selling my fantastic winch, only selling as it doesn’t fit my new toy.
It’s only been used three times, and one of those was to put the plasma rope on it. It’s had the electrical box removed for relocation to hidden winch mount, and gearbox turned so freespool works whilst hidden in standard Discovery bumper. It was fitted to my Disco for only about 4months.
I bought this unit as it’s IP67 rated, so fully waterproof. Ideal for a winch that is hidden, and maintenance is more complicated.
The winch is over £900 on its own and another £220 for the brilliant remote control.
I want £600 for them both. so a saving of £240, nearly half price.

I know. Would have been an easier, and better to sell complete. Thought I’d be using the winch as it’s not really been used, and knew I’d loose a fortune on it, but it doesn’t fit in the Defender bumper I bought
Good winch, I've got the bigger brother 12.5 on my D4. I can't understand why it wont fit the Defender, is it the location of the letterbox in the bumper?1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

So now I'm close to buying rather jumping on it.
Other than a mount, what else would be needed? are all cables, solenoid, battery cables etc. included?Dorian Woolger

The gap between the chassis rails on a Defender are basically 600mm. This winch is 624mm so too big.
The winch is all complete just needs a tray to mount it on and a pair of cables from battery.
I’m devastated, and stuck between the two options. I’ve got the best winch available, hardly used and all the toys for it, but now I’ve bought a bumper, had it stripped, galv’d, painted, and bought the V exspensive soft A bar that goes with it. But the two don’t fit together. Stupid really but never new the Defender bumper had such a small tray. There are only a couple of winches that will fit, and they aren’t as good as the Talon.

I’ve a warn 9.5ti fitted to my Defender, no problem fitting it and a far better winch than the talon.

The Warn isn’t a better winch, it’s just better known. I’ve had one, but I’m glad your happy with it.
