[For Sale] TDV6 complete engine + Auto box
In an effort to make me get my finger out, and on with the TDV8, my own TDV6 engine and gearbox is for sale
Engine is a replacement from a Jag S Type, purchased 5 years ago, with 49k miles on.
I have put 90k miles on it myself, mostly when I was mobile and travelling the country. The vast majority of the miles covered has been motorway driving by myself. Serviced every 9-10k miles (as time has allowed) using only fully synthetic oil and OEM filters
Engine will come complete, and ready to fit, minus an alternator. Already has the stronger style oil pump fitted. Timing belt would be due for renewal in 15k miles
Priced at a firm £2500. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it around the workshop. Never hurts to have a good TDV6 lying around
Also, the gearbox will be available. Genuine LR recon box, fitted 3 years and 40k miles ago. Was a factory recon with all new internals, mechatronic unit and torque converter
It had led a relatively easy life, having only done any heavy towing twice with me. Once from Kilmarnock to Dundee with a Disco 3 in tow, and from Manchester to Dundee with an RRS on the back. Around 450 miles of heavy towing in total

Hiya Mikey,
Does the trans come with a torque converter ? Pretty sure my gearbox is on the way out. I have no idea how much shipping would be to me though i’m in South Wales.

Absolutely mate ! I’d seen the for sale thread a while ago and your absolutely right about it being a known quantity. Beats buying blind or from a “expert eBay outlet” every time in my book. I was just worried about the logistics of getting it to me. This car has become helishly expensive the last month ! But then we don’t keep them for the money do we.
Brother in law keeps on about rebuilding it from the ground up on a galv chassis. Jarrod

Good news mate and was indeed thinking that, ref getting the gearbox from a well respected member
Shame I’m not on a courier route that would have been useful, because it wouldnt have been any hardship to have put the gearbox into my boot , but alas on the wrong side of the uk
That would be awesome building one from a galv chassis up, saying spending 1-2 years to complete it
