Samsung American Fridge Freezer

Think we dodged a bullet with the above. Bought brand new from Costco April last year, as we needed one ASAP but my god it’s been rubbish. Freezer packed in at Christmas/New Year was repaired quickly by Samsung within a day. Fast forward too last week and the Fridge section packed in. Evaporator not working. Engineer came out and quickly decided it should be condemned. Was offered and exchange but have taken a refund instead. Lesson learned always buy separate systems. On the plus side since we will be fitting a new kitchen, it’s worked in quite well for integrated items now! Has to be the worse appliance purchase ever !

Rather than buy an American Style unit we brought two standard (matching) fridge-freezers and stood them next to each other after reversing one set of the doors. To us this gave the best of both worlds - standby/duplicity for both fridge and freezer, significantly cheaper and greater storage capacity. Oh, and two water coolers too! The also have to work less as you are only opening the door to a smaller volume each time.

Our Samsung "American " fridge freezer crap too. Has always leaked because of ice buildup in the fridge part. It has been repaired approx 4/5 times by the knownot crew, ok for a bit then small puddle again.

My Samsung has been faultless, bar the touchscreen crashing on the odd occasion. Bit like the iPad does from time to time Laughing

At our last house we had an AEG larder fridge and freezer , they were great matched the kitchen I put in.

We bought an integrated Neff fridge for when the kitchen gets ripped out. Will buy a freezer when that time comes. Chest freezer will suffice for now.

We got a CDA American style fridge freezer. First one was DOA and the second has been in situ for around 5 years now - which is a blessing because they’re a pig to get in and out of the house.

Our Samsung has been faultless so far.

Our friends have the same one, but slightly older and they haven’t had any issues yet.

We bought a Samsung as well about 4-5 years ago and its been faultless with one exception. The cold air circulation from the freezer to the fridge (in the top left of fridge) must not be obstructed or the freezer will ice up! Other than that, its been perfect.
