Samsung phone/music help

Afternoon all, recently upgraded my phone from an iPhone 3GS to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 whopper! Phone works fine in the Disco and pairs up no problem, however when I plug phone into car via USB socket I cannot playback any music via the car?

I'm a 2010 model so don't believe I can Bluetooth stream the music, needs to be connected. My Merc Bluetooth streams it without an issue.

Am I being thick or doing something wrong? Are there any work around options?

Thanks in advance for any useful advice.

Cheers

I Have the same problem with the galaxy S2.

I think the issue is that the phone has 2 logical 'drives' (micro SD & Internal) which the D4 software can not cope with Rolling Eyes

If I copy all my music from my phone to a 32Gb micro SD drive (ie take the phone internal memory out of the equation ) the D4 can see all the music folders & songs....

I have not been able to find a setting in android to make it work so will be interested in the views of others Thumbs Up

As for playing over bluetooth, dont think the D4 set up has this either
 Cheers Ian

Why not copy your music onto a cheap usb drive and just leave it plugged in the socket, just an idea Thumbs Up

Thanks everyone. Looks like a USB stick as you say. I used that initially when I got the car as I didn't have the iPhone then. Just SO convenient to be able to plug the iPhone in but I guess I'll just have to go back to a stick. Separate sticks for me and the wife though, her taste in music is #%€$.
