Hi newbie here..i bought my fantastic disco about 6 months ago but i did not have sat nav. I have hence followed the topic and retro fitted a touchscreen and dv3200 kenwood system. All works apart from the navigation voices..i.e in 50 m turn left. I have told by Kenwood I just need to connect the white cable form my sat nav and attach it to the speed pulse wire and it will work ok...me being a complete idiot can some one give me an idiots guide as to how to do this and where abouts it is locate.
Many thanks

Welcome Largsbear
Sorry I don't know the answer, but I seem to recall a topic along those lines - some searching of the site may reveal the answer - otherwise hopefully one of the electronic techno wizards on here will help! Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

yes thanks I had searched the site..a couple of contradicting posts...one mentioned a canbus? and another mentioned the speed sensor is in abs module pin 33 but unfortuately I dont know where it is. I cannot seem to find any diagram of the wiring/positioning of parts in the car..I really hope this site can help.
Many Thanks

Wiring connectors and locations can be found here http://www.landrovertechinfo.com/extlrprod...;doclang=1
unfortunatly it will cost you about £8.00 for 24 hrs , but in that time you can print off most stuff ...there is also all the wiring diagrams on there , but i can give you them if you need them .
From what i have read on the subject , i am under the impression that it has to be converted from the can bus system .. G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Have you read this post
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic10514.h...navigation
He explains he used a can bus adapter , and it was connected to the diagnostic port which is located in the driver side , below the steering wheel.
He used a Dietz 61009/610019 can bus adapter , which im sure he will be able to tell you were he got it ...
Oh and welcome to the site G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

hello there, here is the answer your looking for and anyone else that has this system...
with the dv3200
there is a white wire with a diode on it small box about 2 inches or 50mm
the diode end goes under the bonnet connected to the abs module this is
attatched to the brake block with all the metal pipes coming out of it, drivers side UK car
it connects onto pin 33 speed sensor (pulse sensor)
pin layout is something like
1234 on there own then 2 rows as follows
5 - 25
26 - 46ish
the wiring loom to it has a quick release handle that should let you lift out enough loom to carry out what comes next
the wire is usualy solid green there are 4 of them its the one twisted with the green/purple stripe
best way to find it is to put a pin in the whole 33 and jag another pin into this wire and check for a short between your pins if they show a short you have the right wire, you will need a volt meter with ohms test for this.
now peel back the insulation on this wire and connect your white wire in and re-insulate the wire run it into the back of your sat nav white wire, talking and map arrows will now work if you have configured your box for them
let me know how you get on

Thanks sastrojan
...it took 30 mins to do excellent work and thank you very much to this site...I was beginning to tear my hair out....

Yes I had followed the link below
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic10514.h...navigation
That is where I found out how to install the same touchscreen. The Dv3200 is the older brother of the G520 which is a solid state unit.I also read another thread where someone mentioned pin 33 in abs module but I could not find it.
All in all a big to all who have helped..esp sastrojan.

HI I followed thread
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic10514.h...navigation
I did not need or use a CAN-bus adapter (Dietz 61009/610019) to decoded speed I tapped into wire 32 in abs module as per info from sastrojan...this was very very easy.
KENWOOD-LZ-702W (new)approx 158 pounds
Kenwood KNA- DV3200 (2nd hand) 90 pounds
link to monitor

If you are buying new I would personally buy Kenwood KNA-G520
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Kenwood-KN...dZViewItem
this has full 2year warranty and is at least a 100 pounds cheaper than in the main street shops.
All in it was much much cheaper than I was told by landrover..they quoted me a price of 1500 pounds if I could have had it fitted but I couldn't get it retro fitted due to the wiring loom which I think is total bull. TDv6 S 7 seat
