Sat Nav & Dog Cages
New to all this and have a couple of dumb questions.
Just bought my first Disco 3 for the wife. Upgraded from XTrail.
its a 2006 but the SatNav is really out of date. I see there is a new version out for 2009/10 and am guessing this is the latest.
Does anyone know if it has Camera's on there yet?
How easy it is to upgrade.
Is the £136 quoted by Navteq the best price?
Also, moved over my purpose build dog cage, fits (well rattles around). I dont seem to be able to get info on dog cages that fit Disco 3's - any ideas?

The Large One at Yeovil LR will be able to advise on the latest disk, it easy a piece of p s to upgrade, TLO will be able to give you a price to compare against the £136 you have been quoted

There is quite a lot on this forum about dog guards/caqes (D3 owners and dog lovers seemingly go hand in hand) try a search for +dog +cage I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Impressed with the quick response.
Will see if I can make contact with The Large One and also do some searches on cages.

Forgot to add, OEM SatNav does not do speed cameras, there is no facility to up/download your own POI's I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Lintran cages are my preferred cage, being light and heat reflective. Others like the K9 cages which are well built but being dark retain heat. They are probably the best 2 cages on the market if you want solid dirt retaining ones. If you are happy with wire Barjo make good cages to measure DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Thanks for the note.
Seems I am too new to this and cannot reply to messages via the email bit yet.
Will see if I can contact Wiggs when I have hit the magic number of 5 of postings to enable me to send notes

Lintran get my vote for dog transit boxes. Good service as well. Boxes can be customised to suit you or your dogs needs (within reason )
Barjo are good for wire cages, but they do tend to rattle and I found the dogs settled better in the box.Renny Thomson

Barjo
Thanks.
our current one is a Barjo but was build for the previous XTrail. Its OK as an interim but with 2 Flatcoats I want a taller one, still like to keep some space tho as I too have to carry Cack around
Barjo dont seem to have ready made for the Disco 3 tho so its looking more like a customer build.
Thanks for info tho.
BTW - Only rattle I get from my current Barjo is on the read emergency door, tape that up and its quiet as anything.

Did you mean "crack"?
Then again, I guess not, otherwise you'd be in a RRS. The Bearded Dragon

RE: Vantage Dog boxes
Doors look a bit flimsy and advert quotes "Carefully manufactured to ISO 9001:2008 by professionally trained plastic fabricators with years of practical experience." ISO 9001 is not a manufacturing standard, it's a Quality Assurance standard which only tells you that they have alll the paperwork in place! Picky I know but I'm in the Quality Assurance game and I get p ed off with people claiming their product is made to ISO 9001 and implying it's a manfacturing standard. There isn't a standard for making dog boxes There, got that off my chest
