Sat Nav Map orientation doesn't display direction |
|
I am having an issues with the Sat Nav unit I believe and wondering if anyone can help. During On Road mode the compass button at the upper left that can be pressed to display the map as north up or direction up does seem to work. In north up mode the map is heading north but the cars location icon doesn't pivot or turn as I turn the car. In other words the pointer stays in the same direction. This only happens in On Road mode, if I switch to Off Road the cursor moves around as it should. this same issue happens with the map orientation option as well but only in the On Road Nav maps, in Off Road the maps pivot as I turn the car. Is this normal?
Thanks for your help.

Hi there
nice confusing post
In North Up on road the maps stays still and the arrow pivots as you change teh cars heading. If Heading Up, the map is "rotating" around your arrow.
Beyond that I am confused end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

For me this only happens in Off Road Navigation, When On Road Navigation is selected the arrow doesn't pivot nor will the maps rotate. Any idea on how to get this feature to work in On Road Navigation mode?

Must be the weather. Mine has shown me being a few metres from the road I'm on for the first mile or so then I drift back onto track

Ok update, this morning it worked! The cursor or map rotated just like it should until I shut the car off. Now it doesn't work again, don't know what is going on. Everything still works in off road mode as normal but not during On Road navigation.

if you go into settings and choose the 3D mode, then the cursor will stay still and point upwards in the direction of travel. the map will then move down as you progress. switching to 2D mode means the map point norht and the cursor point in the direction of travel (NSEW)
not sure if that was was you were asking - probably not Duncan

No but thanks, I do realize in 3d mode limits the viewing to show as 3d so the map moves with the car.
In my case being in 2D mode the cursor or map will not move/rotate with the car unless I am in Off Road Mode, except for this morning it worked for a very short time. Just wondering if there is something I can do or confirm to keep it working in On Road mode.
I happened again, it all the sudden started working until the key was turned off the it didn't work anymore.
