Sat/Nav screen going dim at random

Hope someone can help. Just returned to Skye from a voyage to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Used the sat/nav a lot for a change.
Sat/nav screen kept letting me down by going dim at random and then getting bright again. Has anyone got any ideas. Have tried searching the topic with no success.
Thanks. Crying or Very sad

Mine does it when the ambient light is variable - like in the early morning and dusk . Turn down the screen brightness to minimize the effect

The cabin ambient light sensor is located at the bottom of the rev counter ...is anything partially covering that area ??

Thanks for the ideas. I will check out to see if anything is in the way of the sensor.

Mine does it as well, I find by having the brightness to max is reduces the problem.

They do this in certain light conditions. My screen was doing the same these last few days at twilight.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yes there does seem to be a 30 minute slot at dusk and dawn when the sensor can't decide what it wants to do Very Happy
