A quick request. Have only had my car 2 days - absolutely love it - but note that when I turn off the engine the sat nav screen stays lit for a period of time - c. 10 - 15 mins. It then goes off.
Is this normal?

Yup!
It depends on how long the vehicle has been run for and the internal temperature, the clock display on the radio also stays on for a length of time

Did you know?
If you go to your car after its been locked up for a while, and its all fast asleep (no clock or Park brake lamp, or sat nav screen showing), then you unlock it to get something out of the boot for example, then lock it again, it will display the Land Rover logo for quite a while before it goes back to sleep again.
Just an observation

I think it is because it is pre-empting the sat-nav being used and is saving time. I think that the DVD is loading info whilst this is happening.

While you are talking about the Sat Nav can anyone tell me how to shut her up? Once I set the route but decide not to follow it, I can't shut the woman up or reset the route. Also everytime I set a route south of the country she always tries to take me via Glasgow. Any Ideas?

If you have voice, press the paddle and say "Shut the F**k up"!!!, or you could try "Navigation - Voice OFF", or if no voice control, Press the Home button (bottom left), and press the Speaker Off symbol on the home screen.

Thanks for that Gareth. I Don't have the voice button but have used that phrase on many occasions without success. Also the voice off will not work.
