Wow, even I can't see what's so upsetting about that. Sure, emblazoning everything with the national flag is a bit jingoistic, and reminds me of the USA, but not sure I'd say it's extremely upsetting. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Not sure what the obsession is these days with emblazoning packaging with the "Butchers' Apron". Are there people out there who are such brainwashed flag-shaggers that this influences their purchasing decisions?!

I think there likely are people for whom a Union Flag on a package will be a deciding factor in their purchase choice. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

seeing the made in Britain logo (in whatever form) subconsciously makes people believe they are buying British and supporting the home industries, however its already been shown that supermarkets make up brand names etc to support this marketing strategy when the goods are actually not British.
I do like Gareths terminology of 'flag shaggers' though 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Morrisons are ahead of the game here. Flags evolved at a time when people were totally illiterate and a simple method was needed to identify nationality etc for allegiance. They are mere responding to their customers' ability to read printed information. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

they need to put clear symbols on soap then, going off their clientele I see when forced to visit our local one (which, given that ASDA are dropping out of the in-store bakery game, is looking more likely if I want fresh fish or non-chemical bread.)
