SDV6 Throttle cleaning
Is there anyone who knows the best way to clean the throttle body on an SDV6? Remove or clean on the car? I only ask as it looks a bit tight to easily remove the inlet plenum.
As I have a reduced idle/rattle I thought I might try giving the throttle a clean. Have already tried teasing a little cleaner into the intake and the idle seem a bit smoother so it would be good to give it a full clean if only to eliminate it.Disco 4 2012

If you believe its gunked up its not a big job to remove it. Just take care with the seals on the plenum/manifold. While you're at it clean the MAP sensor and make sure whatever cleaner you use is thoroughly dried off before refitting the body. Liberal lubrication of the seals will aid reassembly.

Did that (thanks) and replaced the MAP sensor after thoroughly cleaning it. Have read all about not poking your ear bud cleaner up the hole many times since
Tick over is much better (smoother) now but still low 715 or so.
Got a EGR valve sticking code just the once probably as a result of some cleaner getting around the system, so I'm assuming there's some gunk in there. Maybe next step is to do a EGR valve clean. Does anyone know what spray systems work best as I don't fancy a strip down right now? Although at 100K I think it probably needs it sometime soon.
And then Land Rover kindly gave me my next task as the float in the expansion tank has failed FFS. Who the hell runs the design department at Land rover? floats that get waterlogged? Really!
