Seat covers - Help !!

Hiya

We pick up our new D3 on 3rd of March and can't wait. We'll be putting a child seat in the car for our 4 and a half year old daughter. As you'd expect she often gets in with dirty feet-so heres the question !! Does anyone know of any type of clear seat covers that can go underneath a child seat that don't look unsightly and protect the leather frrom dirt and wear and tear ??

Thanks a lot in anticipation !!!

I don't bother with seat covers and have Alpaca Leather with a 5 and 11 year old and 2 springers, I find a damp cloth cleans the seats very well and a dose of Auto Glym leather cream now and again keeps them looking new. Best wishes for the 3rd

I use a blanket folded in half. Goes over the seat covers not a problem.
Any spillages from the two lads gets on the blanket and not on my precious D3. Then take blanket out and wash and tumble dry.

the whole point of leather is its cleanability....damp cloth does the business on my alpaca leather and I've 11, 8 and 5 yr old boys who are mudophilic!!

Whatever you do do not spend £400 on Landrover seat covers. I've just taken mine off after winter and they've marked the Alpaca leather with black marks which I can't shift. The seatcovers have done the opposite of what I wanted them for. Tried to get the marks off and can't so taking it up with Landrover.

Neil, see http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic4400.ht...ers+marked

I got a complete new set of seats as the covers had marked my alpaca seats after 3 weeks. It's not a new issue to LR so get stuck in, I had the head of accessories down at Newport along with the cover manufacturer, that was why the black covers were withdrawn.

thanks, that's great to know, so far the dealer has asked for the receipt, which I have, and some photos. Rear seats are ok, front two are not.

I insisted on new seats as the car was only a few weeks old & the tech guy in the dealer said that recovering them would not look as good as the originals. The fronts were marked (as pic), the rears unmarked but they could not figure out how to order just the fronts from the manufacturer so I got all 7 as a new set. Took about 5 weeks from the dealer confirming that they were to replace them.

PS Welcome, shame with a problem though.

ok, mines a year old and not as badly marked, but both seats are marked on the edges and the driver seat base looks very grubby as the covers were on for three months. Did you get your money back for the cost of the covers?

Im about to buy seat covers from a company called over the top. There top quality and bespoke fitted. Not cheap by any means but when you have quality leather than I think its worth spending a couple of hundred protecting them.

Heres there website: www.overthetop.co.uk

Im gettinmg them becasue my mate has some - they are superb!
Cheers

I would check compatibility with LR SRS systems with those, the LR covers are tested and approved.
