Hi, I have been getting the solid tone from the front parking sensors. I took the bumper off and found a damaged wire. Spliced in a new wire and all was well....or so I thought. A couple of days later, the issue returned.
Having had a fault with the sunroof where the fix was to hold the sunroof switch in for 30 seconds, I thought I'd give that a go with the PDC.
I turned off the PDC (PDC switch light off) then held the switch in for 30 seconds or so until the I got a single beep from the rear sensor speaker. Mysteriously, the front sensors now work OK
My question is this - is holding in the PDC for 30 seconds a secret reset command? I RTFM but could find no reference to resetting the PDC ECU.
Coincidence or a secret reset command??? If it stops working again I'll update the forum.

After replacing the front sensors and loom I need to reset my PDC. I'll give the button holding a go but can anybody point me to the recalibration process? I've searched hi and low on here, and I know it's here somewhere, but can I find it?

Hi Pete
I've read on here that there is, it's one of those engine on/off/on drive forwards 20 yards, engine off, pick nose, light a fag...……… etc.. I just can't find it again.'

I’m all ears on this, 3 years I’ve been without parking sensors and have checked everything. The wife’s only written one parked car off so far

BrianX - that sounds like the XY calibration for a manual gearbox

I'm going to have to try this! I've changed all sensor and loom at the front, 2 sensors at the back and now the ECU because the damn things seemed over sensitive after swapping the old stuff out! Now I get the continuous tone on start up from time to time.Dave

Have you try to use a good code reader? (IID tool, iCarsoft, Gap)??? With a good one you can even see data live stream which will give you a great idea where the fault actually is.
I had similar problem and after reading the code, and search the brilliant minds here, it was firstly a corroded connection in the PDC module, after that one sensor the had an intermittent short. I would not possibility guess these without reading the codes.
As someone here said before, either 8 sensors working perfectly or no sensor at all.
