Secret storage

Well, not very secret, but not that obvious. Laughing

When packing for a camping holiday with 3 boys and (more importantly) a wife who doesn't exactly pack lightly, I was struggling for space, even with a roof box. Shocked

A flash of inspiration led me to see what I could fit under the boot floor, beneath the 3rd row seat bases. Seems you can fit a large reusable carrier bag of food, drink etc under each base! And still fold them back into the floor.

Not exactly Earth shattering, but could be useful to someone...

I think I have two towing straps, jump leads (in a case) and my removable tow bar under those seats!

And a lot fits in the lower side cubby holes, where the jack goes & other side. They are a lot deeper than they look. Thumbs Up

This is how much “stuff” I used to carry, all squirrelled away. Embarassed Embarassed

I lost access to all of that useful space when the dog crate went in so I “had” to get myself a transk9 drawer 🙂

The spare battery box in the D3 was useful if it didn’t have a battery in!

I did cheat a little, I had a commercial load deck in place instead of row 2 & 3 seats so lots of room underneath. Whistle

I store the middle seat head restraint down there. Improves the rear visibility a lot. Not that I've had any in the past week due to a house move.

Still leaves space for jump leads, overalls and a few other soft items.

Regards,
Steve

Good idea. Thumbs Up

Though with 3 boys, most of the time that seat is in use in our car.

Owning one of these cars ensures that I always have massive amounts of space. In my wallet that is.
