Service Kits - Genuine or OEM?

Hi All,

New to the disco scene...

I have a LR3 2.7v6 which is due a service (actually 700 miles over...)

i wanted to service it myself so I can get more technical experience with the vehicle.

Do you guys suggest genuine service kits or will OEM do?

Genuine: https://www.lrparts.net/full-service-kit-u...parts.html

OEM: https://www.lrparts.net/full-service-kit-u...ation.html

Also how would I reset the clock/timer on the service? each time i start the care it bings with service notification.

Thanks in advance - please be nice for a newbie Wink

Thanks for the link, will defo purchase it from there at those prices.

Any idea if there is a big difference if I get a OEM kit instead of genuine LR parts?

Big difference in terms of functionality? There shouldn’t be any Mr. Green
Big difference in terms of price? Pretty big Thumbs Up

FWIW I’ve used Mann and Mahle filters in the past.

Ah great, thanks mate!

I didn't know if people suggested to always use genuine parts or not...

Also any idea how it would reset the service clock on the dash?

Try searching the forum. I’ve got an IIDtool which is capable of doing it.

We use OEM for all filters, except pollen filter

Using a tried + tested OEM option gives confidence that should the worst happen, it can't be attributed to a spurious filter Thumbs Up

Are you using an aftermarket pollen filter then instead? Like Mann FreciousPlus or Mahle Caremetix? The genuine active charcoal one didn’t seem special in any way.
