Service pricing?

Hi All,

Can anybody help with a comparison for service prices?

My wife has just been quoted 689 pounds by Stratstone for a second service on our 07 XS which seems rather steep.

I recall looking at the service prices last year and thinking they didn't seem too bad for a 'premium' vehicle, where as this quote has taken our breath away a bit!!

Is there a lot of work to be done at the second service??

Thanks in advance,

Rich Confused

(sorry)

You should easily get it under £400, Yeovil do it for £340 (I went there for my 2nd service) and I'm sure others more local to you will be happy to get the business by quoting you considerably less......

But £689 is really REALLY taking the Censored !

Damn that high !!

Shukers in Ludlow (Shropshire) are circa £500 and I thought that was high. They are an excellent dealer but I just can't run to the cost at the moment.

It seems service pricing has more than doubled in the last 2 years.

This time round my 30K service is all being done to the book with some added extras by 10forcash a member here and LR specialist.

He has all the kit, experience and knowledge to do the right thing.

drop him a PM.

Ring her, tell her you'll pay the £600 - get it done somewhere else, pocket the savings - she'll think you're great and you'll be richer for your efforts Wink

Otherwise she'll just spend the difference on shoes Rolling Eyes

Hi, I just had Stratstones call me and quote me £480 for a B service. The car will be 2 years old next month, but has only covered 14k miles in total. I said it seemed expensive, so they reduced it to £430. Sounds like this may still be too high... I'll ring around.

Cheers Rolling Eyes

Once again, cheers for the replies.

She has got Armstong Massey of York coming out to collect it for just over 400 pounds (can't find the symbol on this yankee keyboard!).

Don't mind paying the extra as it is a long way for them and they are leaving her a car (needed with the three sprogs!)

She is now writing a long list of warranty stuff for them to have a go at!!

Thanks again,

Rich

hi, having read your replies, I phoned around a little and got another local dealer to quote me £399 (including collection and drop off), my original dealer has matched this rather than lose the business. So thanks all for your help. Now hoping that they'll sort out the wipers that they didn't get done last year! 8)
