What I found shocking, was after the first girl from Bethnal Green ran away the Police discovered that she had been groomed and they spoke to seven girls in her friendship group including Shamima, but without the knowledge or consent of their parents.
Her lawyer says that by questioning the girls without their parents, they were effectively put on notice that "they were being monitored and would have to leave for Syria immediately".

Sadly there are always going to be those that try to make everything a single issue situation, astonbuilder. Annoying because it doesn't do anyone any favours to resort to such simple-minded responses. I'd hope the interviewer would reply that it's because she was consorting with terrorists and that alone.
