I have a tds on my Discovery albeit the 12500lb version, it fits the discreet mount and spares are readily available if required.
Only needed it a couple of times but itβs been good when needed.
Thanks for the info. All the reviews give ia very good write up for the TDSDiscovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π

Hoping to add to this thread soon. Superwinch Talon purchased from forum member, mounting ordered from "Uncle Ray"
Will take lots of progress pics when I start. Hopefully with a bit of planning should get most of it done in a day as cannot leave it in pieces due to being daily runner.
Any advice on issues to plan for welcomed. Also ideas for the cable runs from solenoid to battery. Note: I have a later D4 with the Start/Stop system.
If you go onto the Devon 4x4 website and search for winch mount there is a good article on fitting a winch to a D4. It shows cable runs and power pick ups and all sorts.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π

Which winch
Any more views.
The 9500lb Goodwinch actually didnt stall until it delivered over 12,350lb. That seems a good advantage with the weight of a D4
I read a lot of winch tests but this one seems to be one of the best I have seen.[/b]Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π

Another plus for the TDS is if you require more performance from the winch you can fit a bow motor which increases pulling power and speed.

Yes they are dangerous for sure. What you see at a pay and play fair makes your eyes water.
Not quite the same but I have a video of a man sitting on the bonnet of a defender whilst his mate does a reversing recovery of a stuck car, using a dead strop to do a snatch recovery with the huge shackle attached to the tie down eye of the defender. It didnt go so well.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π
