side rubbing strips
I am looking at fitting some side rubbing strips to my new disco 4, when it turns up. These are the ones halfway up the doors. Could anyone tell me the way these are fitted and how easy it is?
Thanks

Easy job to fit, they're self adhesive. Just clean & degrease the doors in the fitting area mark the fitting line and warm with a hot air blower, or wait for a warm day, then just stick them on.
Just make sure they go on the right way up, you'll struggle to get them off again.
Cryptic instructions and degreasing pads are included with the kit.Clive

It's very easy.
Measure where they should be stuck to (mark it out with masking tape) and then measure again to confirm it's correct. (dimensions are shown in the instructions).
Clean the paintwork where they will be stuck with the supplied wipes (or just use white spirit).
When the surface is perfectly clean and dry (and free of wax etc), remove the backing tapes and stick 'em on. Pay attention to the gaps between the front and rear doors.
Spend 5 minutes gently holding them into place against the door skin.

Good point about observing the rear to front door gap, ISTR the rear door one should be set back about 5mm from the leading edge, if you fit it any less than that it will catch on the back edge of the front door as it opens Clive

Just a small tip.....
When I put mine on I cut out 3 prices of quite thick cardboard for the height up the doors and stuck those on resting on the plastic at the bottom, put 1 at the front 1 in the middle and 1 at the back, then you can sit the bottom of the strip on it while you line everything else up then just push it across and stick it on!
As the others say easy job hush warm the strips up too, left mine on the aga for ten minutes!
