Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before but can anyone advise how I remove the LR Side Steps (VTK500010) from my D3.
I am hoping to transfer to my future D4.
I am told that when originally fitted, the plastic sill/trim will have been cut away for some reason and will need replacing to bring the D3 back to spec.
Can anyone confirm if this is the case please?
Any help appreciated.

yep, you will need new sill trims, as to fit the steps, the originals have to be cut. Dont know if you can use the cut D3 ones on the D4.

Yes, same part no in the D4 brochure as is in the D3.
The dealer has said that they will remove the D3 & D4 sills and swap them before the side steps are refitted to the 4 so the D3 is back to spec and the D4 has the cutouts ready
Do the sills literally bolt to the floor underside i.e. is it just the bolts which stop the steps dropping down or do they slide into registers?
Anyone know of any diagrams/instructions anywhere?

the plastic sill covers (the bit that gets cut) is fitted via plastic push fastners, the step fitting brackets bolt through these into the still. pic will be in the fitting guide (which is on the LRownerinfo site:
