Side tubes removal
The D4's got a set of chrome side tubes the previous owner had put on, are they straight forward to remove? They've been on for almost 7 years and, whilst tempted to remove them, worried about getting half way through and hitting bolts that won't come out.
Then have to get plastic sill trims, don't s'pose I can just stick black gaffer tape over the holes.

Not sure about tubes, but when I fitted my sliders filled holes with copper grease and covered with gaffer Iggy/Ieuan

I somehow doubt the supplying dealer would use copperslip. LR dealers wouldn’t use anything they don’t need to.

You could always offer them 'free' to someone, providing they remove them and make good the area/holes afterwards (even by swapping over their trim for your trim).
Just a thought. 🏴

I was thinking just that, or sell them with the tubes and I take the new owner’s intact sill covers.
Want to remove JLR sidesteps and replace with tubes Does anyone know if cut outs in plastic sill the same?2001 P38A Gone

When I removed mine I ended up having to drill the bolt heads off. These were stainless steel and were pretty hard.... took bloody ages!!

I actually tried to get mine off yesterday. Bolts welded on solid so it’s a cut job.
The brackets behind the sill coveres are rusting and pushing the covers out of shape. I want to get to them before they rust the sill itself.

In the end I didn’t bother, just flogged the car with the tubes in place.
