Yeah, they look like silvered bulbs but are in fact blank 'domes'.

Here is a photo of a headlamp with just the sidelights (fairy lights) on, the light in the bottom right corner is a cornering lamp which if yours hasn't got adaptive healights it wont have.

I've just picked up a MY11 D4/LR4 HSE and have been trying to figure out what those lights were supposed to be for. They never came on for me, but now I know why as I don't have the "vision assist" option which included the adaptive headlights.

Stuart Neil, If you have bulbs like in the bottrom right of the pcture they only come on when you are in D travveling under 30mph and are indicating to turn a corner.
If you have the non functioning globe as mentioned then you only have zenons not adaptive xenons as in the picture above.

Mine come on when turning at low speed without indicating
Thanks, They look like bulbs but are indeed just placebos. I thought they must be part of the adaptive headlight option package, that didn't come on my LR4. There seems to be few things included in that package than were mentioned in the brochure. The adaptive headlights, high beam assist, power folding mirrors, additional cameras, tow assist, auto recirculation/cabin air filter are what I've found so far.
Maybe I can rig them up for some additional lighting in the future.
I am the other way around on MY12 when I put the side lights on the side lights are as they say, the fairy lights don't work at all. Is this something that can be activated eg get the fairy lights to work?
Thanks
Dougie

Depends what model you have. Fairy lights are NOT standard on ALL MY12 versions but are standard on all HSE's whether adaptive anything or Vision assist its more the headlights/xenons and cornering lights that change with the later two options.
If you've got ANY sort of HSE trim then non functioning Fairies ain't right I reckon.
CliveIf it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer
