how long does it take to take the side steps off as i need mine all the time i would need them put back on as soon as i finished off roading?
how much do you think someone would charge me to take off and re-fit in one day?
i hope it wouldn't be too much as i don't have very deep pockets.

It took me just over 2 hours to fit side steps and this included cutting the six T and L slots so removing them should take less than half this time.

No worries Bodsy, nice to see comments on the pros and cons, particularly that the tubes are more likely to lead to dirty trousers...... as I've just got the dealer to agree to swap the steps for black tubes at no cost! Still, I would rather have an accessory that protects the car and looks halfway purposeful without risking an F14 trying to land on each side of me.
Must let Martin know the Mobile version of this site is great!

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

That's funny, when I had the steps, I never used them. They were always in the way, and I would just step over them. If I did try using them, then I would have to "duck" to getting into the rig. Even getting out, I would reach out past them to the ground. The kids however loved the steps. Too bad the kids don't know how to put them back on.... I'd rather have the rock rails than side steps.... 2005 Zambezi V8 SE

They're good for narrow parking spaces too. The kids love them, and the missus wants them back, so after Salisbury they'll be going back on..... Disco 5 HSE Lux

If any of you are selling your steps you could ask if who ever is buying them to swap the trim, you will have a blank trim and they get one already cut out . It will make boths jobs a lot less messy.
