Sidestep repair - or is anyone out there a surgeon?

All

I need some help!

First of all, thanks to cotefarmboy for a great day out yesterday, but I now have a choice. Urgent repair/replacement of the aluminium strip that sits along the sidestep, or removal of bodyparts using a rusty knife by a Censored-off wife.

Naturally I would prefer to repair the outer strip which has completely come off, taking with it every rivet and fastener as it did so. There appears to be nothing more than a "no more nails" solution to this one but before I entered the unknown I thought I would ask for guidance.

Can anyone help? (the non-surgical method would be preferred)

I can just picture her lifting her leg to step up & then falling flat on her face when they're not there........ You think the first body part removal was painful, I'm sure she'd have a replacement part inserted if that happened..... Shocked Shocked
