Nothing I’ve seen offers the same value as Gifgaf but Vodafone does give coverage.

That's a good idea, what switch did you use and how was it wired in?
Cheers

I got a waterproof switch on eBay, make a bracket to fit it behind the grill and ran a positive to one side and the other side to the altox unit. Ran the wires in conduit so they where protected and heat shrinked the ends.

Will that switch work?
Quote Fleebay "*Operation Type: Momentary (Activates when pressed, deactivate when released)"
It would need to stay active wouldn't it?

It is a momentary switch that is needed. You press it and then it will run for the set time in the app (eg 20 mins).
Have a look in the manual that comes with the unit for wire colour and how to wire it, the 4 and the 5 are different depending which you have.

one thing i noticed after running the wires for the button is i do get a better signal than i used to in the places where i struggled before, maybe not related as i cant see how it would help but it apears to have helped enough so that i dont need the button now fitted.
Ive also checked the wiring and on my WBUS-4 its the pink wire that you need to supple 12v to in order to fire up the heater.
