the fact that TATA will soon be our masters! What a joke! I just hope they don't start trying to put TATA spare manufactured gear in the next phase of landys like ford did, although it worked with some of the ford gear like the heated windscreen. To be honest I thought 1.3 billion was a bit cheap really. Don't be paranoid.........'They' don't like it!!!!!!!

The heated screen was in LR's long before Ford bought in. The TATA empire produces part of the existing D3 already.Disco 5 HSE Lux

warrior22... we will have to see what transpires. Personally I have no issue with it. I think TATA will do JLR proud.
And from what I read, TATA are proud to have JLR and won't quick to mess with either brand. Else why buy them ?

My last D1 300TDi ES had a heated screen in 1998 8)The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

That's interesting, because Ford patented the heated windscreen back on H reg, which was, what, '92? I've never had a discovery before, always had defenders and series. Last Defender was 54 plate 90 XS which had heated windscreen.
Anyway, I hope you're right too, Simon, about TATA. They've obviously got plenty of cash. I wonder if they've put aside enough to keep the development going like Ford did. I just hope they don't start getting involved with design and engineering issues - have you actually seen and driven a TATA 4x4?! Cos I have and it 'aint that impressive at all!Don't be paranoid.........'They' don't like it!!!!!!!

And again, why would they buy JLR and then foist what could be seen as inferior engineering and technology on them ? Thats hardly the point... they would take advantage of JLR technology and use it elsewhere.
TATA is a very successful company. They are not likely to screw it up are they ?
