Slow Puncture

The front near side tyre on my D4 is loosing 2-3 psi very week.

I can't see any damage on a external inspection of the tyre.

Should I take it in to the local tyre fitters, who are excellent, or continue to top up once a week.

Can't see there's a choice. Things only get worse not better and if you get it sorted earlier there's more chance of a puncture repair.
I never muck about where tyres are concerned.

Our old Skoda looses about 2psi / week. No signs of damage anywhere and it appears to just be a "leaky alloy". The wheels aren't in great cosmetic nick and could probably do with a refurb so it's on my list of things to sort.

If you are interested you could try with some soap water and see if there are bubbles forming around the valve stem or the bead where tyre meets rim, those are the usual suspects if there is no obvious tyre damage.

Take to your local tyre fitting place NJSS, they should take the wheel off and dunk it their tank to see if they can find the leak (if they can’t see it visually) Thumbs Up

Thank you every one. Thumbs Up

I should have said that I have done the soapy water test - with no result.

So I'm off to the tyre fitters, in the hope that they can find something.

Update.

Back from Tyre Fitters - Horndean Tyres - who are excellent:-

https://horndeantyres.co.uk/

They found a small nail that I must have missed - £20 + VAT

Glad you got it sorted Nigel.

I thought you might be talking about Horndean tyres, I find them excellent for all my Car and Trailer tyre needs.

It's a shame they closed the Motorcycle side of the business a few years ago, I'm still trying to find somewhere as helpful in that respect.
