Sluggish below 2000 revs

Hi I've just bought a Disco 3. Within 2 days the engiine management light came on and it's been back to dealer to have new EGR valve fitted.

However, it still strikes me that it has no grunt below 2000 revs. When I go into a slow corner or roundabout I need to drop into 2nd to pull away. It picks up above 2000.

Is this normal, or do I need to go back to dealer to try again?

Cheers,
John.

The D3 TDV6 is definitely a little "sluggish" below 2000rpm (until the turbo kicks in) due to the sheer weight that it carries, but it should still pull cleanly and smoothly from around 1700-1800rpm.

You may possibly think that this is due to a fault if you've only just bought it and you come from a smaller car.

Another possibility is that the second EGR valve also needs replacing Question Or it could be another problem (turbo, intercooler hose etc).

Try and see if you can try another one to compare.....if it still seems lacklustre, get it back into the dealers Thumbs Up

Oh...and welcome to the site Thumbs Up

Cheers,
Paul
