Sluggish then goes lacking pawer tdv6

Hi im looking for advice on my recently purchased disco 3. It has just started to play up.
Its an 05 plate TDV6 when driving it seems to lack power for a small delay then when it reacts it goes as normal (all the way up the revs. its as though at half throttle somethings sticking even sometimes drops down slightly (If any one one rembers the old su carbs on a petrol its like the suction float is sticking)
Ive seen lots on here about turbos but it does go nicely above 2000 rpm its just the lower end and as though its lost in the gears.
Oh yes no warning faults showing on the dash. and does give some smoke when heavy accelerating to simulate the problem/
Thanks in advance

Normally if one EGR fails you don't notice any power loss, but when the second goes you know about it Shocked Quite scary at busy roundabouts Shocked
