Smart Key

Hi

I've got the 'low battery' warning on my dash for the smart key, but putting a brand new battery in doesn't solve the issue.

Any thoughts?

Duff batteries are not unknown in cheaper brands but try scraping the contacts and reinserting the battery.

Thanks - will do (especially as it’s the key that doesn’t look like it’s gone the distance with Chris Eubank)

Cleaning electrical contacts with isopropanol and an earbud might help.

Target anything on them that looks green/black.

Spain 2011 Discovery 3 3.0 TDV6 HSE Auto Sumatra BlackDiscovery 3

Good morning. A new Panasonic battery gave the problem with one remote and not with the other remote. Surprising!! I thought that the remote was broken, but reading on the forum, a DURACELL battery was recommended and indeed, BOTH REMOTES MANAGED TO ERASE THE WARNING. !!!!! IT IS SOLVED!!!!!!
Multimeter:
new PANASONIC battery: 3.03V
new DURACELL battery: 3.30V
that difference in voltage from Duracell made the warning disappear.
Thanks to this FORUM so full of information, where I have been able to solve the problem. I thank everyone for contributing their experience and wisdom to it, because it has gotten me out of some problem or vehicle repair more than once. I am very happy with this Forum!!!!! Thank you. Greetings to everyone!!!!

This problem happens frequently with domestic smoke alarms, why in heavens name do manufacturers do it?- are they back handed by Duracell?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
