smoke coming from under the bonnet

My FBH fired up on Saturday morning also. Lots of smoke! it has not fired since last April!

Well, yes and no.

The FFH serves three purposes, one of which it doesn't (as we all know). Parked heating, auxilliary heating and supplementary heating. Parked is knackered; auxilliary provides the fast engine warming, within definer parameters; supplementary provides fast cabin heating, when requested, and also subject to defined parameters.

The dials are the visible part of the ATCM - which is also the main control unit for the FFH, in conjunction with the ECM. The signal for supplementary heating is dependent upon the dial settings on the ATCM.

Connection with the alarm system? Now that really has to be too far fetched. Wink

The alarm was a theory of the Webasto tech because of airflow with the volumetric sensors, not confirmed and I wouldn't have a clue anyway.

Volumetric sensors (as opposed to ultrasonic) are not affected by airflow, they would also seem to be inhibited when the tailgate release is programmed to the LR button on the key
