Biggest problem with the D4 was comming down this bit, big slope here and Hill Descent just does not seem to work right here, as its attempt to stop the car makes the car start to slide and the back moving sideways. My finding was that Low range and no Hill Descent makes downhill more effective.

We are expecting more bad weather next week, so hopefully will have the chance to play a bit more.

In first picture it looks like the wipers are lifted clear of the screen, is that the case?

Thanks guys.
@Russel: Yep, that is right, just to prevent them from freezing on the windscreen overnight, although the FBH and the heated windscreen would take care of this; just makes things faster and more gentle for the wipers rubbers.
BTW, forgot to say that I had the chance to make proper use of the FBH which is just such a handy device and much more than a gadget in such conditions.

do you know you can adjust the speed of the hill descent by using the cruise control + and - buttons.
it may be that you need to increase or reduce the HDC speed to get it to work at its best Duncan

@fat bloke: One of the nice things in Greece is that you get all sorts of weather during the year. We never get bored, that's true...
@DiscoDunc: Yes I tried the + on cruise control, setting it to the max speed (three possible selections only - I wish we also had the Evoque HDC speed indication in the instrument panel); didn't really help. It really scared me a lot, feeling my 3 tone beauty getting a bit out of control. Do note that the inclination in the part of the road is quite big (must be sth like 15% if not more) and to make things worse there is a sideways slope as well. Anyway, will try it again next week.

Its a pity the the windscreen wipers in the UK always park and you cannot lift them clear of the windscreen. Might be worth talking to Duckworths or Yeovil to see if we can get Greek spec wipers for the UKMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
