Someone not having a good day

Passed this on the A30 this morning at around 10.30hrs. Looked like the driver was ok though. Did cause at least a 7+ mile tailback though.

Another of those weird ones where the tow vehicle overturns but the trailer/caravan stays upright. These seem to have been happening more and more in last couple of years.

Theories please!

We often travel on the M5 from Taunton - A 38 - A30 to Dartmoor and its unbelievable the amount of times one of the roads is closed due to an over- turned car/caravan incident. I have towed quite a bit in the past am quite comfortable when towing but I'm never blasé about it. I used to tow my rally cars that had a fairly hefty price tag and used to slot into lane one and trundle along with the HGVs at 55 MPH in a Range Rover that weighed at least 3 times heaver than what it was towing.

I don't get it...... you see the fully-loaded family hatchback with kids and dog on-board towing a caravan, at least 2 - 3 times the length of the car; weaving all over the road; hammering past the lorries at 70mph (at least) .... it's no wonder they turn over. All to get to their destination half an hour earlier... Their cargo obviously isn't that precious? Rolling Eyes Banging Head Mad

Thirty minutes gets them six places further up the pecking order to get a better pitch.
