Somewhere to stay in France for a couple of days
I am travelling down to the il de re near La Rochelle in August via Caen. Looking for somewhere to spend a couple of days on the way down. Did fancy dinard but it’s slightly off route but more importantly some of the hotels are pricey.
Any suggestions ?

We was in:
La Métairie
12 rue du Petit Bois, 35410 Domloup, Francia
typical French farm, exceptional house in a small village easy to reach, with secure parking inside the farm and near Rennes, beautiful northern city. All for less than € 80/night two people in full room and breakfast included. For my taste, you can not ask for more from France.
Can't recommend accommodation but the last time I went that way I stayed din Nantes for a couple of nights. Lovely old walled city. Beautiful at night. Great cafe culture and great for people watching.
Off towards the coast a little and there's La Baule, also a lovely place but try to avoid the casino!

It´s very different to the Domloup one, this is modern, but comfortable and well-maintained service, does not include breakfast, as almost always in France, in the price and is somewhat more expensive but reasonable, I was there and I also recommend it. Its location next to a river and some castle....is simply magnificent. We were passing very well, something far from Nantes, about 15 minutes to go, but it is worth leaving the bustle to sleep.lost in translation!
