sound system meets sticky end with cup of tea |
|
Hi Guys,
Firstly great site, just need someones help on a problem I have.
Stupidly I placed a cup of tea on the shelf above the stereo the other morning, and when picking it up, I spilt some of it and it went down inbetween the gap of the bottom of the sat nav screen. I quickly mopped it up as best I could, but on the way to the work, the voice recognition system kept cutting in on its own accord.
When travelling home that evening, the stereo system refuses to turn on at all, although it is lit up and the clock shows the correct time.
Any ideas? (other than don't drink tea when driving!!)
Thanks in advance

Welcome
I'm no electrical wizz but I would take the surround off and wipe it up properly.
if you grab the surround right at the bottom either side of the centre consol and give it a GOOD pull towards you, it will lift up and out. Duncan

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.

Pity the D3 wasn't designed to incorperate several cup holders
Hope it don't cost too much to fix

Only a guess, but does it have 2 fuses, one for permanent live and the other for switched live or is it all done via the BUS network now .
