Ordered over the week-end arrived today
just lowered my spare wheel to fit it and found that somebody at Land Rover has been listening to their customers , my D5 comes with an anti theft plate already fitted.
Not as good as Uncle Ray's tho because the 'Blob' on the end of the spring is exposed whereas with Uncle Ray's it isn't.

So did my D5 but accordingly the thieves can still get the LR one off if they try... so I fitted my uncle ray protector over it for good measure ! 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Thank You Uncle Ray.
Took me a bit longer than that to fit mine to my AdBlue D4; I have to admit to being a bit stumped at how to fit it despite Uncle Ray's diagram.
But we got there in the end...
1. Drop the spare wheel down, unhook the end of the cable and wrestle it out from under the vehicle, scratching the plastic carrier tray on your tarmac driveway in the process.
2. Lift up the wheel and slot the plastic pegs fit through the wheel.
3. Repeat step 2 as the pegs will have dropped out again as you set the wheel down on the tray. Several times.
4. Line up the protector plate with the holes, slot the plastic peg through, try and fit the rubber O-ring over the peg.
5. Retrieve freshly-sprung O-ring from just out of arms-reach, then return to step 3 as the plastic peg has dropped out again...
6. Practice installing the O-ring on the pegs before attempting step 4 again
7. Manage to get the first peg securely in with O-ring and celebrate by trapping finger in the pin-latch
8. Install the second pin with a lot less colourful language
9. Realise you don't know if you've put the pins in the right holes in the wheel to match with the plastic carrier tray and decide to press-on regardless.
10. Wrestle the whole thing back under the vehicle, re-attach the cable and wind-up the wheel until tight.
11. Step back to admire your handy-work to see the whole thing still only at half-mast
12. Loosen the wheel, give it a tentative shove to see if it wants to go somewhere else, re-raise and hope for the best... Lower it a little and rotate it to hide the worst of the gravel rash on the carrier tray
13. Remember that the TPMS was nagging you to check the spare tyre's pressure.. Gordon

Step 3 is where you went wrong!
Leave the wheel standing upright, push the pegs through, hang the protector on the pegs, slide on the O rings and push in the pins latches and then lay the wheel down..
