The problem with rubber valve extensions is should they fail you lose all pressure.
The rigid plastic ones are better in that respect as they just shatter and dont effect the tyre pressure at all, but are the wrong shape for this job.
Many tippers on the road dont have the extensions fitted as they get to many problems with flat tyres due to the off road debris.

Understood but there should be a massive difference in failure rate between one whizzing round on a truck tyre at 3 times the pressure in all conditions and a static one nestled up by a steel plate inside an alloy wheel.
Cannot remember one failing on a Wolf and the side-mounted spare gets bashed and dragged against all sorts.
