Spare Wheel Security Plate vs Spare Tyre Inflation
To answer an email regarding checking and airing the spare with a security plate fitted.

It's just standard reinforced edge trim but the cheap plastic 'U' edging would also be good enough to stop the plate scratching the wheel.
Yep, the rust is pretty horrible on the plate. I would probably have to get the wire wheel / flap wheel on it before painting with Hammerite.

Boiler spares stockists should have them, as they're frequently used to check the pressure on expansion vessels
