| What spec has Freeview tv |
|
I’m looking at a new D4, as a search and rescue volunteer I spend a lot of time sat in the vehicle monitoring coms and or waiting for teams to return for transport, I’m torn between an HSE and a Lux / landmark.. it will be 2014 on but what spec had the TV? www.southeast4x4response.org.uk Responder of 9 years service SE140

I had Freeview on 2013 + 2015MYs  21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

but it doesn't come as standard ...HSE Lux for that  21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Ahh ok that’s what I’m trying to find out, the Lux’s are a few grand more than the HSE (comparative age and mileage) and all I really want is the tv.. www.southeast4x4response.org.uk Responder of 9 years service SE140

Have you considered getting any MY14 and retrofitting the TV?
Tuner unit, aerial + bits, MOST cable and you should be good to go!
*Not tried this one so may be more complicated than I’ve made it to be but I’m sure someone on here will have done it 👍 Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

I looked at retro fitting it to my last D4 and it was a massive ball ache from memory.. by the time I’ve sourced the kit and found someone to do it I’d have been better off just buying a vehicle with it installed in the first place www.southeast4x4response.org.uk Responder of 9 years service SE140

Or the 2016 Landmarks.
Bear in mind that the power management shuts the TV down quite quickly, effectively requiring the engine to be running to watch TV. Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Use a tablet, either downloaded, itv hub/bbc i player ect or via sky go over 4 or 5g piggy backed off your phone. Or using data sim in tablet

The only issue with that is that I’m already running a 4g tablet for mapping and I’m running out of dash space.. 1st world problems I know but if it weren’t for the fact I spend an awful lot of time in the vehicle I’d not be too bothered www.southeast4x4response.org.uk Responder of 9 years service SE140

I have a tv retro fit kit for sale in the parts section,it takes about 3 hours to fit and gives you completely integrated tv will touch control icon, it’s worth a look.
