I thought no fines were issued to UK licence holders but got one today - fixed camera me doing 94kmph in an 80 zone on the 19/2 - knocked 5kph off for variation so i was done for doing 89kph. 45 euro if I cough early. Ironically practically all the speed cams that waze prompted were knackered/cover in gilet jaune wrap. So there you go. Not going to make me want to leave though...

Was this issued to your UK address?

yep - must have got it through DVLA

2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

in France they have a clear tendency to set traps or ambushes with their mobile radars ... I was photographed with a pistol type immediately after a toll, approximately 150 meters after the barrier ... a few meters before the relevant indicator 130 km / h, what's the point of that? But is it an ambush to get your money? ... I do not even know what speed I have to go there ...the bill, fortunately, never arrived !
... Censored

...the problem is that given my geographical situation, I have to pass through France, and all its tolls, always to go to the sites that I really like me!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I bimble through at 60 & have still been flashed, where there is suddenly a big drop in the speed limit with no advanced warning and a camera just after the only sign. Rolling Eyes

The French post warnings about cameras on their motorways so they are easy to avoid. Less easier to avoid are the speed guns / traps in the villages, but thats the same over here.

It’s the dual carriageways that tended to catch me out, I tend to use a lot of those as much less tolls and can see more when bimbling. And the sneaky one on the A26 (I think) approaching the tunnel from the east. Whistle

The big difference with reciprocal EU fines is France et al go for the owner of the vehicle, but UK legislation only allows you to go after the driver hence why Jonny Forigner isn’t prosecuted here. We need to change our laws.

That apart, what’s the consequences of ignoring a French fine?

Two years ago got pinged on their motorway, hammering along, can’t remember the speed but somewhere around 150kmh+.

Was driving a Spanish registered car.... several weeks later and back on holiday the fine arrived in by registered post, it was ignored, as were the next two registered letters with ever increasing fines.....

They stopped sending them Laughing
